Travel information

The fastest way to travel from Paris to Tours is to take a TGV (fast train) :

  • Directly at Charles de Gaulle’s airport if you land there.
  • From Montparnasse’s train station if you come from somewhere else.

Buy your TGV train ticket at a desk or a machine if you have a credit card. The ticket includes a booking which is compulsory when traveling on a TGV train.

If you can, buy your ticket in your country to be sure to have a seat int the TGV of your choice. Book you ticket a long time ahead, it will cost you less. www.voyages-sncf.com

To validate you ticket, do not forget to punge it before getting on the TGV : you have to insert the ticket inside one of the yellow machine near the docks.

If your TGV stops before Tours ( Tours’ train station is in a dead-end), get off the train at Saint-Pierre-des –Corps. From there, take the shuttle to Tours. It usually is on the same dock. The trip lasts 5 to 10 minutes.

How to go to Montparnasse train station ?

From Charles de Gaulle’s airport (CDG)

  • Terminal 1,stop is at the “arrivées” sign
  • Terminals 2B and 2D, gate D14
  • Terminals 2A and 2C, gate 10
  • Between the terminals 2E and 2Fn gate 8-9
  • Bus every 30 minutes from 6am to 10.30 pm

To take a taxi, you will have to pay for 55 € to go to Montparnasse train station.

From another train station in Paris, you can take the subway

Be neither pressed nor charged because you will have to walk a lot in halls of stations and also go up and down many stairs.

Look for the following lines: Porte d’Orléans, Châtillon-Montrouge, Mairie d’Issy or Charles de Gaulle-Etoile.

These 4 lines go through Montparnasse-Bienvenue. The name of a line corresponds to the name of the last station.

A taxi from any train station in Paris to Montparnasse-Bienvenue costs mote or less 10 to 15€. An small extra fee is charged for your luggage and for an arrival in a train station.

From Montparnasse train station to Tours

Buy a TGV ticket to Tours..

A return ticket in a second class costs from 45 to 90 €.

There are approximately 12 TGV trains a day going to Tours from Montparnasse.

Low cost travels

Take a regular train at Austerlitz train station (the journey lasts 2 to 3 hours), a « ouigo » bus or a « flixbus » bus !

There is a direct TGV from Bruxelles to Saint-Pierre des Corps (Tours’ suburb)
