Upon your arrival at CLE, you will receive a ‘welcome pack’ containing information about your studies at CLE, your stay in Tours and the activity program at the school. One of our teachers will take you on a guided visit of the school premises, showing you study aids that are available to you and what you could do in your spare time. If you give us a picture of yourself, you will receive a student card enabling you to benefit from various reductions in bookshops, museums, cinemas etc.
Following that, you will take a test, lasting about 2 hours (testing your written and spoken French) to allow us to make a serious evaluation of your knowledge and place you in a small group class at the correct level for you. We will take time to discuss together your motivation, expectations and special interests. If you have never studied French or are a beginner, the test will only take a short time and we can start your first lesson immediately.
If you have enrolled for a ‘A la carte’ course, we will spend about 45 minutes showing you the area of the city adjacent to the school with its monuments and historical restorations. If you have enrolled in a standard, this tour will take place on your first afternoon and will last about 2 hours.
